    LVMH Sells Off-White to Bluestar Alliance in Major Fashion Deal

    LVMH, the luxury goods conglomerate, has announced the sale of Off-White LLC, the company behind the global luxury streetwear brand Off-White, to New York-based brand management firm Bluestar Alliance. While the financial details of the transaction have not been disclosed, the deal signifies a major shift in the ownership of one of the fashion industry’s most influential brands.

    Off-White was founded in 2012 by the late Virgil Abloh, a groundbreaking figure whose work bridged the gap between street culture and high fashion. His designs, which redefined modern luxury, continue to resonate with audiences around the world. Following Abloh’s death in 2021, Off-White has retained its status as a major player in the fashion industry, admired for its distinctive aesthetic and cultural relevance.

    Bluestar Alliance, known for its extensive portfolio of brands and expertise in brand management, expressed its commitment to preserving Abloh’s legacy while expanding the label’s global presence. Joey Gabbay, CEO of Bluestar Alliance, paid tribute to Abloh’s influence, stating: “Virgil was a creative pioneer who had a profound impact on the global fashion industry and creative community. Acquiring Off-White represents a unique opportunity for Bluestar Alliance to honour and build upon the enduring legacy of Virgil Abloh.”

    Gabbay highlighted the alignment between Abloh’s vision and Bluestar’s values, noting that the designer’s innovative approach to blending streetwear with high fashion continues to inspire. “Abloh’s ability to fuse street culture with high fashion has laid a powerful foundation that aligns with our vision of fostering innovation while embracing diversity,” he said.

    Bluestar Alliance intends to invest strategically in Off-White to ensure the brand maintains its cutting-edge appeal while leveraging its own global resources to strengthen the label’s reach. The acquisition, according to Gabbay, will allow Off-White’s creative and cultural momentum to continue under the stewardship of Bluestar Alliance.

    For LVMH, the sale of Off-White represents a passing of the torch to an entity it believes will respect the integrity and spirit of the brand. The French luxury group remains proud of the legacy built by Abloh and is confident in Bluestar’s ability to carry it forward. In a statement, LVMH said, “Bluestar Alliance is the perfect partner to carry that legacy forward. Bluestar shares our commitment to respect creative integrity, and we are confident that, under their stewardship, Off-White will continue to innovate while respecting the spirit and values of the brand.”

    The sale of Off-White is part of a broader trend in the fashion industry, where luxury brands increasingly look to expand their global footprint through strategic partnerships and investments. With Bluestar Alliance at the helm, Off-White is poised to continue its role as a leading force in contemporary fashion, ensuring that Abloh’s vision endures for future generations.
