Swindon-based medical device company Vygon UK has raised £2,000 for two local charities through its successful inaugural Christmas Fayre held on 5 December. The event, which attracted over 150 attendees, featured stalls from more than 50 local businesses, offering a range of festive products and treats.

Held at Vygon’s headquarters in the iconic Pierre Simonet Building, the fayre became a festive highlight for the Swindon community. The event’s success was largely driven by the generosity of attendees, who contributed to a fundraising total that saw £1,000 donated to each of the chosen charities: Threshold, a charity supporting the homeless, and Age UK Wiltshire, which provides vital services to elderly residents in the area.

Ben Harman, CEO of Threshold, expressed gratitude for the donation, saying, “We were delighted to be chosen as one of the charities supported by the first-ever Vygon Christmas Fayre. Vygon’s support will allow us to continue providing safe housing and personalized support to people who are homeless, helping them rebuild their lives.”

Kate Brooks, Operations Manager at Age UK Wiltshire, echoed the sentiment, thanking Vygon for their efforts. “We are so grateful for Vygon’s support and the opportunity to be part of such a wonderful event. It was a great chance to engage with the local community and raise awareness about the services we provide for older people in Swindon,” she said.

Vygon UK, known for its commitment to community engagement, has also supported several other local causes throughout the year. These include donations to the Swindon & District Community Football League and 2Step Dance Academy, as well as fundraising efforts for PINNT and Children’s Hospices Across Scotland (CHAS) during professional events in Southampton and Stirling.

Katie Kingston, Head of Marketing and Communications at Vygon UK, highlighted the company’s ongoing commitment to community support. “At Vygon, we are dedicated to making a meaningful impact. Hosting a Christmas Fayre was a fantastic way to spread festive cheer while supporting vital local services. The response from the community was incredible, and we are grateful for the generosity of all who attended,” she said.

Looking forward to 2025, Vygon plans to further strengthen its ties with local charities and groups, aiming to deepen its engagement through not only financial donations but also volunteering and other contributions. Kingston added, “We hope that by sharing our resources and our time, we can make a lasting difference in the lives of those who need it most and continue to build strong community bonds.”

The event marked a successful beginning for Vygon’s annual Christmas Fayre, and the company looks forward to making it an even bigger occasion in the years to come. For more information visit www.vygon.co.uk
