Glasgow-born DJ and producer La La is preparing to embark on her highly anticipated 2024 Scottish tour, returning to some of the country’s most legendary clubs. Known for her deep connection to Scotland’s vibrant electronic dance music scene, La La will perform at Glasgow’s Subclub, Edinburgh’s Liquid Room, and The Tunnels in Aberdeen this November, solidifying her standing as one of the most exciting acts in dance music.

The trio of venues has played a significant role in shaping Scotland’s club culture. Each holds a rich history and is considered a second home by many of the country’s most passionate electronic music fans. La La’s connection to these iconic spaces is well-established, particularly in Glasgow, where she spent six years as a resident DJ at FLY, the Sunday club night at Subclub.

Since starting her career locally, La La has become a familiar face on the global electronic music circuit. Her international breakthrough came in 2019, where she regularly performed at renowned festivals and clubs worldwide. From London’s Fabric to Ibiza’s Circoloco, Sydney’s Lost Sundays, and Awakenings in Amsterdam, she has captivated audiences with her dynamic sets and distinctive sound.

One of the key moments in La La’s career was the launch of her own family of record labels. Her pride in her Scottish roots is evident through her independent label Brand New Records, which is dedicated to supporting Scottish talent. The label’s emblem, a unicorn breaking free from its chains, draws from Scotland’s national animal and its folklore. Speaking about the meaning behind this, La La said, “I don’t think many people realise our national animal is a unicorn or the story behind it. I’ve always loved the symbolism and wanted to incorporate it into my work.”

Alongside Brand New Records, she runs Sound As Records, a label that releases music from global artists she’s connected with on her travels. Both ventures are aimed at nurturing the next generation of talent in Scotland and beyond, something she takes great pride in.

Reflecting on her Scottish identity, La La expressed her sense of pride: “There’s a special moment when you’re travelling, and people assume you’re from somewhere else – often England. It’s a joy to jump in and say, ‘I’m actually Scottish.’ It’s something my peers and I cherish. Being unapologetically Scottish in my language and style has always been important to me.”

In addition to her work as a DJ and label owner, La La has seen a rise in her reputation as a producer. Her debut track, “Give Yourself A Try,” made waves across the electronic music scene, showcasing her versatility across various sub-genres, from jackin house to percussive techno. The remixes that followed were further proof of her collaborative nature and influence in the industry.

More recently, La La gained further recognition for her remix of Borai & Denham Audio’s “Make Me,” a track that went viral during her 2022 MixMag Lab session. The remix, released by Sony, marked her first collaboration with a major record label. In August 2024, she also remixed Little Mix’s Jade Thirlwall’s debut solo single, “Angel of my Dreams,” joining forces with big names such as Blessed Madonna and Jax Jones.

Fans in Scotland will have the chance to see La La perform on home turf during her upcoming tour. Tickets are available now for her three November dates:

    • 14th November: Subclub, Glasgow
    • 21st November: The Liquid Room, Edinburgh
    • 22nd November: The Tunnels, Aberdeen

With a career on a continuous upward trajectory, La La’s upcoming shows promise to be a celebration of both her global achievements and her deep-rooted connection to Scotland.
